Hello friends, Masters week. (Insert birds chirping here) My in-laws are
making their 2nd straight trip to magnolia lane, which means I may be upgraded
from a hat to a polo. Still hope to make it there someday,
either on my own accord, superfluous groveling, or creating an illusion
that I am a fun guy to hang out with. To make it on my own, I need to
come up with about 20 grand, even with the reasonable priced pimento
cheese sandwiches, so lets hang our hat and possible shirt on the latter two. To
my brother-in-law I love you man.
The next best thing to being there? Directv. The Masters Mosaic. The
pimento cheese sandwiches and beers are even more reasonable in the man
cave, and electronics are allowed. Sometimes I could use one of the
quiet please signs guys in a green jacket, but Marley dog uses his Jim Nantz voice the majority of the time. Marley has been known to drop a Yes Sir! on the back 9 on a Sunday, or when another dog walks by. The Masters Mosaic is done
very well. (Not to mention all the major coverage through the year)
Between Amen Corner, marquee groups, stats, highlights, well it's almost
like, well you know. I am also impressed with the ESPN coverage with Van Pelt, Tirico, North, and Zinger whose insight illustrates the chasm between those gentlemen and I. Very similar to the chasm between my game and the game necessary to compete at Augusta. Coupled with following some of my favorite golf
writers and commentators on twitter, @JasonSobelGC @dougferguson405 @KellyTilghmanGC @nothefakeSVP @PaulAzinger it is one of my favorite weeks of sports viewing.
As far as who is going to win the jacket? I'm with Vegas 3/1.
He is obviously playing well, still the best player in the world, a
will to win that is unmatched and most importantly this week, putting
well. (Thanks Stricker, says PGA Tour)
To watch list, Angel Caberra, Louis Oosthuizen, Charles Scwartchel,
Rory Mcilroy, and don't forget the come out of nowhere guy to be named this
weekend.
Who do you patrons like? How do you enjoy your masters experience? If you are in Augusta , I am a XL, and have a large dome.
See you in Butler Cabin. (On directv)
Thanks for reading. Always striving to improve style and content.
